The Benefits of Unlimited Web Hosting
Unlimited web hosting is just
that.......unlimited. You can host as many
websites as you want to under your hosting
account. For somebody who is looking to create a business
as an internet marketer or blogger, unlimited web hosting is
absolutely necessary. For somebody who is just looking to
build a website to an already established business or just
trying to start your own personal website, it may not
be that important.
There are a couple of ways to get unlimited web
hosting from a hosting provider. The options are
either through shared hosting or through your own dedicated
server. Each of them have their own benefits, as well as
their own drawbacks.
Shared Hosting
Without question, the biggest advantage of
having unlimited web hosting through shared hosting is the
cost. It is MUCH cheaper than having
your own dedicated server. Obviously being that its much
cheaper there will be some drawbacks but nothing that should
deter a newbie from getting started.
With shared hosting, (much like the title
implies) you have to share your domains with your primary
domain. Each website that was created after the
first domain will be an add-on domain or subdomain of the
first domain. So for example if your first
domain was called "firstdomain.com", your second domain would
be an add-on domain and would be hosted as
"firstdomain.com/seconddomain". This is strictly for
hosting purposes. As far as the internet world is
concerned they are two separate websites (As a matter
of fact, this website is an add-on domain from
another website I own, but you wouldn't have known that).
The only problem with this is that you won't be able to sell
your websites if you wanted to, being as they are
connected with other domains.
The only other downside to shared hosting is
that you are also sharing your bandwidth between
your other websites. So if you've got a couple
of websites that are really bringing in the
traffic you may run out of bandwidth for
all of your sites.
If you are just in the beginning stages of
your long career as a webmaster, it is strongly
recommended that you start with shared hosting.
It gives you the perfect opportunity to build multiple websites
without the high costs of hosting. Also, since you are just
beginning, chances are that bandwidth issues will not be a
problem, as it will take some time for you to build enough
websites as well as drive enough traffic to have bandwidth
issues.
Dedicated Server
If you are a seasoned veteran or somebody who's
websites are really starting to get a good chunk of traffic
then a dedicated server might be right for you.
With dedicated servers, there is no
need for subdomains or add-on domains as each
domain has its own FTP account. So its perfect
if you want to sell your website as it is not connected to any
other domain in your web hosting account.
Each website also has its own bandwidth
allowance so there is no need to share bandwidth with
your other domains.
Another key feature is the kind
of security you get when having
your own dedicated server. With a dedicated server you
are able to scan for anti viruses on your websites. (You can't
do that with a shared account due to the fact that you are
sharing the same servers with people around the world)
The only real downside is the cost.
Dedicated servers can run up to 10 or 20 times more
per month than shared hosting. But then again, if your
websites are bringing the money, it would be wise to
offer them the security that a dedicated server brings to the
table.
iPowerWeb offers some
of the highest quality of service for shared hosting
accounts. Also Server
Pronto has some of the best deals on dedicated servers that
